Italy’s Mountain Ranges

Italy has some of the most stunning mountain peaks in all of Europe. There are three distinct mountain ranges on the peninsula including the Alps, the Dolomites, and the Apennines.

Every single region of Italy, including the islands of Sardinia and Sicily, has mountain peaks that reach at least 1,000 meters or 3,200 feet.

Of course, the most well-known peaks are Monte Bianco (Mont Blanc) and Cervino in the north and Mount Etna in Sicily.

All 20 of Italy’s regions offer a unique mountain experience whether it’s skiing or other winter sports, hiking, mountain biking, or rock climbing.
